The Meeting Place Cafe is a Ministry that God laid on the hearts of two ladies in the Church, Kate and Cathy, mainly for the benefit of new Christians as a means of support and encouragement but open to anybody, whether they be Christians or not.
Kate and Cathy were very aware that when they became Christians, they had a good network of fellow Christians around them. They loved spending time with these Christians, talking about their faith, asking questions, reading God’s Word and praying together. Kate and Cathy realised that not everyone was in such a blessed position as they enjoyed and so they wanted to provide a similar opportunity for people to talk about their faith and ask any questions that they might have.
Kate and Cathy believe that The Meeting Place Café was the place where they should meet and indeed, it has proved to provide the perfect setting with a very welcoming and laid back, friendly atmosphere.
The group meet at the cafe every Thursday between 11am and 1pm. As already stated, it is open to anybody. People who are not Christians have been warmly welcomed and the group are very open to any questions and are ready to offer any support if needed.
Kate and Cathy aim to have someone share a testimony of God’s love and salvation as they are so powerful and encouraging, whether a person has been a Christian for 5 minutes or 50 years.
Kate and Cathy have already seen fruit from these meetings, and they look forward to all that God is going to do through them and the group in the future.
The Meeting Place Café is situated at the bottom of Oxton Road in the middle of Birkenhead. It is directly opposite ‘The Fish Bowl’ Fishing shop. You enter through the dance studio door and walk up the stairs to the first floor where you will see a sign pointing you to The Meeting Place.
