Say one for me is a prayer based evangelistic initiative started from St Mary’s Upton and adopted by many churches on the Wirral, including ourselves here at Emmanuel Christian Fellowship.
We go out into Birkenhead town centre as often as we can with the aim of making known to people that there is a God in heaven who hears and answers prayer and who cares for them personally – something we feel needs to be emphasised in the uncertain times in which we live.
It has been refreshing and encouraging to see how open people are to prayer and this has often been a bridge to a deeper conversation about faith and what it means to follow Christ.
We feel the strength of the initiative has been in the fact that there are two parts of the team. One which goes into Birkenhead and one which prays for the team as they are out. The two aspects are completely inter-dependant and it has amazed us how often what is spoken on the streets is reflected in what is prayed in church.
